GT TECH DESK: BigBasket has big cyber break news. Data from BigBasket’s nearly 20 million customers have been leaked on the dark web. A few days ago, there were reports of data leaks of the company. This data leak contains information like email address, phone number, password. The leak also includes physical address and date of birth.
BigBasket users’ data is available for free on the Dark Web. Another hacker claimed that after that the users’ passwords are also in encrypted form. The hacker group has data on all the users on the famous dark web ShinyHunters which includes a variety of personal information. Indian cybersecurity researcher Rajasekhar Rajharia tweeted about this data leak.
Earlier in November last year, the data of BigBasket was leaked. ShinyHunters had the facility to download data on the Dark Web for the entire past week. Many users’ passwords were present in plain text, which was being sold on the dark web.
Have I Been Pwned has also confirmed the data leaks of many users and the company has also informed people in this regard via e-mail. Let us tell you that BigBasket started in the year 2011. Chinese company Alibaba also has a stake in it.

Earlier in November, Sabile had said in its report that a hacker had allegedly put BigBasket’s data for sale for Rs 30 lakh. Saibal said in a blog that during regular monitoring of the Dark Web, Saabil’s research team found that BigBasket’s database is being sold for $ 40,000 in the cyber crime market.
